Grand Lodge Officer Training

HOME

This will be where the Grand Lodge Officer Training material will start.

Be warned, as we work through many issues this year, I expect a positive attitude to be maintained at all times.  If we sink into negative thoughts, we rapidly quit working on solutions.  That is not acceptable.  I'd like you to consider the lyrics to the song, Five Dollar Fine, by Chris Ledoux:

We're a fun lovin' crowd, kinda rowdy and loud,
Our jukebox won't play no sad songs,
So don't come in here and cry in your beer,
'Cos we don't care about who done who wrong.

We got a five dollar fine for whinin',
We'll tell you before you come in.
And if it ainít on your mind, to have a good time,
Ya'll come back and see us again.

Well, we don't really care about your clothes or your hair,
This party is open to all.
Yeah we like a good joke and it's all right to smoke,
We got just one rule on the wall.

We got a five dollar fine for whinin',
We'll tell you before you come in.
And if it ainít on your mind, to have a good time,
Ya'll come back and see us again.

Now there's too many fools makin' too many rules,
That's one thing you can't say about us.
'Cos we all get along when we sing the same song,
There's just one thing that causes a fuss.

We got a five dollar fine for whinin',
We'll tell you before you come in.
And if it ainít on your mind, to have a good time,
Ya'll come back and see us again.

We got a five dollar fine for whinin',
We'll tell you before you come in.
And if it ainít on your mind, to have a good time,
Ya'll come back and see us again.

We got a five dollar fine for whinin'.

I plan to have a good time next year.  It will be a lot of work.  But it should be fun.  And even when it isn't fun, I plan to maintain a positive attitude and expect all of the other Grand Lodge Officers to do the same.  But we all have our moments.  If any of the Grand Lodge Officers, any of the Board or Committee Members, any Past Grand Lodge Officers, OR ANYBODY ELSE, catches me " whinin' " during 2007-2008, call me on it.  If I agree that I am whinin', and I probably will, I will donate $5.00 to the Hope Lodge fund.  Of course, if I catch any of the Grand Lodge Officers doing the same thing, I will expect to collect $5.00 for the same fund.  And complaining about a fine is considered whinin', so it's best not to argue too much, since escalation is a really effective principle.
